On June 05, Ms. Pham Ngoc Tuong – Vice President, Mr. Bui Phuong Tung – Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Nguyen Thi Kim Thu – Student of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering attended the 2015 Amcham Scholarship and II – VI Vietnam Fund Award at II – VI Vietnam Company (Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Zone).

The Amcham Scholarship and II – VI Vietnam Fund are sponsored by the American Business Association at Ho Chi Minh City (Amcham Vietnam), II – VI Fund (II – VI Foundation) and II – VI Vietnam Co., LTD. They are awarded to students majoring in technology and engineering at University of Technology, University of Technology and Education, Cao Thang Technical College and Thu Duc College of Technology with the purpose of supporting in finance and encouraging them to study and work in this field.

The information about the scholarship received much concern from students of the 4 universities and colleges. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet all the following requirements: being a college student in the second year of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics or Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; having an average score in each schoolyear of above 7.0; actively participating in outdoor and social activities and having clear career orientation. Moreover, students also have to attend an interview in English with the sponsors. With her own ability and effort, student Nguyen Thi Kim Thu from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering were successfully among the 12 students to receive this honourable scholarship. Together with the 10-million scholarships, students also have a chance to spend their internship period and work at II – VI Vietnam Company.

This is the 2nd consecutive year that students of Thu Duc College of Technology receive the scholarship. Last year, student Tieu Nhat Thinh (Faculty of Electrical and Electronics) also became one of the 8 students to receive the 2014 AmCham Scholarship.
