The Vietnamese Teacher’s Day on November 20 has become an extremely special day in the mind of many generations of Vietnamese teachers and students. It is a day to honor and praise the teachers, who devote their life for the education career and is also an opportunity for each student to show their gratitude and respect to their beloved teachers.
The 33rd anniversary of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day was held on the morning of November 20, 2015 with the presence of Mr. Le Van Nhung - Head of Cultural and Social Division – People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, Mr. Nguyen Toan - Former President of Thu Duc College of Technology, Mr. Lee Ho Sung – President of Yeungnam University College, South Korea as well as representatives from departments, organisations, unions, enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City and all the academic staff of the school.
Also at the ceremony, Mr Lee Ho Sung - President of Yeungnam University College was honored with the medal "For the Education Career" by the Ministry of Education and Training for his and the school’s contribution for education in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh congratulated Thu Duc College of Technology for their achievements. He also shared and highlighted the responsibility of teachers and pointed out the challenges for the college in the near future.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly – The College’s President - thanked the representatives from People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, and expressed her hope to receive their direction. She also thanked all the international guests, the organizations, enterprises and students for attending the ceremony. It would be a great motivation to help the teahcers to better accomplish their tasks.
