Thu Duc College of Technology has more than 35 years history of establishment and development. It was previously Thu Duc Technical Education and Vocation Center established in 1984. The school was officially named Thu Duc College of Technology in 2008.
With the motto “Always renew to develop”, the school always strives and attempts to enhance the training quality, with the purpose of being an educational institution to train highly qualified human resources, contributing to the industrialization and modernization process of the city and the whole country.
Currently, the college trains 24 majors for College level (2.5 years) and 07 majors for Vocational level (1,5 - 2 years) with a total number of over 10,000 current students in such fields as Information Technology, Electrical – Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automation Technology, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance - Banking, Logistics, Supermarket Management, Tourism, Hospitality, English, Japanese and Korean Languages.
TDC employs its international cooperation to implement joint programs in majors of Industrial Electricity (following the program transferred from Germany) and Information Technology (following the training model in coordination with Japanese college and enterprise). Additionally, TDC organizes short-term courses for various skills meeting learners’ demands.
To realize the goal of standardization meeting Southeast Asian quality, Thu Duc College of Technology (TDC) has strengthened its cooperation with international partners including the European Institute of Cooperation and Development (IECD) (France), Vistula University (Poland), Association for the Promotion of Education and Training Abroad (APEFE) (Belgium), International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) and Korean institutions such as Yeungnam University, Hanyang University, Seowon University, Induk University, Joongbu University, Jeju National University, Myongji University, College of Yeungnam Ikong, etc. Memorandum of understanding between TDC and its partners in academic training, teaching material composing and program transferring have been signed and realized with impressive efficiency for the purposes of enhancing educational quality, developing human resources, expanding research activities, exchanging and receiving international lecturers, and facilitating students to participate in joint programs at reputational colleges and universities in the region. Moreover, TDC teachers and students are enabled to further practice and improve their life skills through meaningful cultural and social cooperative activities. Also, to narrow the gap with regional institutions, TDC offers Vietnamese learners the majors of Mechatronics and Multimedia Information Technology with programs transferred from Singapore Polytechnic University. Within 05 years, aiming at obtaining the high quality in training national, regional and international professions, TDC continues to recruit students into advanced programs transferred from international projects in coordination with IECD, Aus4Skills, APEFE and OIF. Furthermore, it is an orientation of TDC to open new collegial majors of Technology for solar energy and Network security and focus on training the human resources meeting social demands and actual professional requirements.
The college has a campus of more than 50,000 m2 with modern and spacious facilities that are maintained and upgraded every year, including: theory classrooms, practicing rooms, workshops, soccer, volleyball, badminton and tennis playgrounds, etc. All of these are for the requirements of learning, researching and training of our officials, lecturers and students.
The total number of the college’s lecturers and academic staff is more than 300. Most of the lecturers meet the required standards for academic knowledge and methodology. The training program is continuously updated and innovated to meet the requirements of social development. The students are able to learn and practice in an active and friendy environment where they can develop their creativity through academic activities, clubs and volunteer work. Besides, the college also offers different scholarships and has many policies to support the learning process of the students.
