Since May, 2016, Thu Duc College of Technology (TDC) and European Institute of Cooperation and Development (IECD) have had several meetings to discuss the possibility of a cooperation program between the two institutions in the future.
IECD was created in 1988 at the initiative of entrepreneurs and universities. Education and vocational training are at the core of IECD teams’ actions, convinced that these are the keys to human development. Indeed, their mission is to promote development by strengthening peoples’ capacities and those of local partners. Driven by the desire to show solidarity with people in need, they responded to calls from civil society in Madagascar (1989), in the Lebanon (1989) and in Cameroon (1992). From these countries, IECD has progressively established itself in Sub-Saharan Africa, the near East, Latin America, Southeast Asia and especially Vietnam (2010).
In the near future, IECD and TDC hope to launch a training program in French Bakery & Pastry for vulnerable youths in Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City. Students will be trained in bakery & pastry, English and life skills so that they can find a job after finishing the course. The two institutions will have some further meetings for developing this program.
