On September 10, 2016, the leaders of Thu Duc College of Technology (TDC) had a meeting with 05 students who were going to attend the six-month internship program at Yeungnam University College from September 2016 to February 2017.
The exchange program for students to study and experience the living and working environment in South Korea has been carried out by the college for many years. However, this is the first time the program is extended to students in the technical majors. Five students participated in this program include: Nguyen Binh Khanh Duy (Faculty of Electrical – Electronic Engineering), Nguyen Thi Thu Thao (Faculty of Electrical – Electronic Engineering), Nguyen Hong Thien (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), Nguyen Thi Kim Thu (Faculty of Automotive Engineering) and Phan Luu Anh Tuan (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). One of the biggest barriers for technical students to attend this program is their Korean ability to follow the studying program in South Korea. Understanding this need, the Faculty of Korean Language, in collaboration with the Faculties of the 05 students, organized a Korean course to teach Korean language and culture for the students from April 2016. Thanks to the dedication of the teachers as well as the determination and efforts of the 05 students, they now can have basic skills in communication (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), understand the culture of South Korea and are ready for their trip on September 22.
The six-month internship program at Yeungnam University College is sure to bring the 05 students with many great experiences, helping them to improve their skills, academic knowledge and creating more job opportunities for their future careers. This is also a prerequisite for technical students of Thu Duc College of Technology to access modern the economy, science and technology in developed countries.
